Generac 5623 GP6500 8,000 Watt 389cc OHV Portable Gas Powered Generator

Generac 5623 GP6500 8,000 Watt 389cc OHV Portable Gas Powered Generator Description
Featuring a compact, wheeled frame for easy transport, the Generac 6,500-Watt Portable Gas-Powered Generator provides a reliable power supply wherever you need it. An OHV (overhead valve) engine delivers performance and power, while a sturdy steel-tube cradle protects the generator's exterior. For safe and comfortable use, the circuit-breaker outlets prevent power overloads, and the low-tone muffler makes for ultra quiet operation.

A Durable Power Supply Wherever You Need It

The Generac 6,500-Watt Generator is an ideal portable generator to have at home, on the job site, or wherever you need power. Its compact frame--33.5 x 26.5 x 27.5 inches (LxWxH)--is fitted with never-flat wheels and locking fold-down handles, so it can easily accompany you wherever you go. And with its hardened steel-tube cradle, this rugged generator holds up well for frequent travel, allowing you to look forward to years of operation.

Thanks to its versatile design, this generator adds comfort and possibility to any situation. Use it to keep your family safe through unexpected blackouts, add some fun to a camping trip, or make your job faster and easier.

Powerful OHV Engine with Secure Shutdown

The Generac 6,500-Watt Generator is equipped with a powerful 389-cc OHV (overhead valve) engine. The engine features a low-oil shutdown system, which prevents engine damage and keeps your generator in good shape for long-term use. It also features splash lubrication and a high-performance alternator, ensuring that operation of your electrical devices is efficient and smooth.

Plus, this generator's sturdy, 6.6-gallon steel tank ensures a full ten hours of operation at a 50-percent load, letting you relax for hours of use. And with the tank's built-in fuel gauge, you can monitor fuel levels at a glance. Generac even provides you with your first supply of oil.

Plenty of Wattage to Run a Full Range of Appliances

The Generac 6,500-Watt Generator supplies 6,500 output watts and 8,000 maximum watts (for start-up of devices). It has an A/C voltage of 120/240 and a frequency of 60 hertz.

For unexpected blackouts, this is enough wattage to run home appliances such as security systems, computers, and electric stoves. For construction and landscaping applications, it's enough to support devices such as lawn mowers, belt sanders, and table saws. And for camping and outdoor events, it can run portable stereos, outdoor lights, and electric grills.

(Note: All appliances should be checked for actual wattage ratings.)

Safe, Quiet Operation with Overload-Protected Outlets
If security and quiet operation are important to you in a generator, then the Generac 6,500-Watt Generator is an ideal choice. Its four 120-volt outlets and single 120/240-volt 30 Amp twist lock outlet are circuit-breaker protected, guarding against power overloads and allowing the generator to smoothly send power to your appliances. And the low-tone muffler means the generator runs at a comfortable noise level that easily blends into the background.

This generator is backed by a two-year limited warranty.

nothing like a hot shower, November 3, 2011 By Denkopf

Easy to put together. starts right up. Used it for two storms one 7 days without power one without for 1 day. Nothing like seeing the neighborhood without power and you got the lights on, heat, TV, cold food and piece of mind. Very well built but the proof is in years of service, time will tell.

I can't say enough good thigs about my dealings with Amazon, I purchased a Generac 5623 8000 watt generator this past Monday the 31st after a freak snow storm left our area without power. I ordered it Monday morning and it was delivered Wednesday at 1:30 right to my front door, within minutes it was in place working. The transfer switch I also ordered was delivered Tuesday afternoon. The generator is working fine with no problems, I have powered my oil fired furnace, oil fired hot water, well, refrigerator and family room with no issues.

My wife can start this, September 7, 2011 By S. J. Laframboise (Massachusetts)

I trust the name brand, and plan on keeping up with the maintenance. My wife can start it, easily!

It's not for the job site, but looks like it could survive in one, the wheels seem somewhat cheap, but strong enough.

Overall excellent. I bought it and set it up and needed it the next day, amazing timing.

You will need to get a grounding cable to ground the chassis, which is nothing, but something I didn't know when I bought it.

No problems so far...

I just received it yesterday. Took a few minutes to set up (attaching wheels, handles, adding oil and gas).

Started first pull. I tested all of the 120V sockets with a High Power drill and all seems fine. If I have any problems in the future, I will update this review.

Shipping company was right on time. Estimated between 10am & 2pm. Showed up at 10:05am. The two gentlemen were very courteous and placed it in the backyard for us (it weighs about 200lbs).

Let's see how it does in an emergency.

Great Buy, December 28, 2010 By Scot M

The generator started up right away and using my transfer switch I confirmed we'll be in great shape with any power loss. We lost power for 5 days in the Spring and I now feel confident we're in fine shape if/when that happens again.

Ran well from the start, December 28, 2010 By Dianne

We have tried this generator twice and it ran well each time. Easy to move and start. No problems with shipping

Minor assembly required (wheels...handles...adding oil) but relatively easy to complete. Out of the box, generator started with a couple of pulls and runs very smoothly. A little on the loud side, but not atypical for a portable generator. Have tested generator by hooking up to our house transfer switch and transferring the to gen power. Worked flawlessly and easily ran gas furnace blower...well pump...2 refrigerators and a couple light circuits. Thus far...nice machine.
