Generac 5622 GP5000 6,250 Watt 389cc OHV Portable Gas Powered Generator

Generac 5622 GP5000 6,250 Watt 389cc OHV Portable Gas Powered Generator Description

Featuring a compact, wheeled frame for easy transport, the Generac 5,000-Watt Portable Gas-Powered Generator provides a reliable power supply wherever you need it. An OHV (overhead valve) engine delivers performance and power, while a sturdy steel-tube cradle protects the generator's exterior. For safe and comfortable use, the circuit-breaker outlets prevent power overloads, and the low-tone muffler makes for ultra quiet operation.

A Durable Power Supply Wherever You Need It

The Generac 5,000-Watt Generator is an ideal portable generator to have at home, on the job site, or wherever you need power. Its compact frame--33.5 x 26.5 x 27.5 inches (LxWxH)--is fitted with never-flat wheels and locking fold-down handles, so it can easily accompany you wherever you go. And with its hardened steel-tube cradle, this rugged generator holds up well for frequent travel, allowing you to look forward to years of operation.

Thanks to its versatile design, this generator adds comfort and possibility to any situation. Use it to keep your family safe through unexpected blackouts, add some fun to a camping trip, or make your job faster and easier.

Powerful OHV Engine with Secure Shutdown

The Generac 5,000-Watt Generator is equipped with a powerful 389-cc OHV (overhead valve) engine. The engine features a low-oil shutdown system, which prevents engine damage and keeps your generator in good shape for long-term use. It also features splash lubrication and a high-performance alternator, ensuring that operation of your electrical devices is efficient and smooth.

Plus, this generator's sturdy, 6.6-gallon steel tank ensures a full 10 hours of operation at a 50-percent load, letting you relax for hours of use. And with the tank's built-in fuel gauge, you can monitor fuel levels at a glance. Generac even provides you with your first supply of oil.

Plenty of Wattage to Run a Full Range of Appliances

The Generac 5,000-Watt Generator supplies 5,000 output watts and 6,250 maximum watts (for start-up of devices). It has an A/C voltage of 120/240 and a frequency of 60 hertz.

For unexpected blackouts, this is enough wattage to run home appliances such as security systems, computers, and electric range tops. For construction and landscaping applications, it's enough to support devices such as trimmers, belt sanders, and circular saws. And for camping and outdoor events, it can run portable stereos, outdoor lights, and electric grills.

Safe, Quiet Operation with Overload-Protected Outlets

If security and quiet operation are important to you in a generator, then the Generac 5,000-Watt Generator is an ideal choice. Its four 120-volt outlets and single 120/240-volt 30 Amp twist lock outlet are circuit-breaker protected, guarding against power overloads and allowing the generator to smoothly send power to your appliances. And the low-tone muffler means the generator runs at a comfortable noise level that easily blends into the background.

This generator is backed by a two-year limited warranty.

Generac generator, October 20, 2011 By Angel

Love this generator! Definitely gives my wife and I peace of mind owning one. Does it's job! We shopped for quite some time looking for a deal. Amazon was the best deal we found. We are happy!

Easy to put together, comes with everything you need, started right up!, September 26, 2011 By G. Hourihan "RuneCreations" (CT, USA)

Well it comes pretty much all together you just need to put on the wheels and handle bars (no biggy). I put in the supplied oil, filled it with Gas and on the second pull it started right up (probably would have started on the first but the gas needed to get in there). I haven't used it for long so I can't comment on its longevity but my one qualm about it is that the motor does not seem to be a brand name as far as I can. There are no really apparent labels on it which would lead me to believe it is not a briggs or kawi or....

Does the Job - but it is LOUD!, August 31, 2011 By Kim (NJ, USA)

Purchased this item the day before Hurricane Irene since all box store shelves here at the NJ shore were empty and it looked like a CAT 2 was headed straight for us. Amazon Prime was GREAT and item was delivered 3 days later. It is now 5 full days after the storm and we still have no power. This generator is supporting 2 refrigerators, 1 large freezer, 2 computers, about 6 lights, 3 corless phone bases, and allows us to charge our cell phones etc. We did also try adding on the basement dehumidifier but the surge after 30 min. shutdown everything until I unplugged the dehumidifier.

We do turn it off every night around 1AM because even though our neighbors are 3/4 acre away they too can't believe how loud it is. Lying in bed at night it sounds even louder than during the day :)... I cannot imagine anyone using this to support an RV in an RV campground. But for getting us through this Hurricane we are thrilled. I personally have been wearing my son's ear protection earmuffs for car racing just to give me some peace for a bit.

Built very sturdy - easy to fill - easy to wheel etc.

This unit powered 2 10,000 BTU window AC units, a television, HEPA filter and a humidifier without issue. The cords/plugs did not become hot. The carb was dirty and needed to be cleaned prior to use, but that is after the unit sat for a year with only occasionally being fired up and fuel "Stable" was used.

Let it run out of gas before your store it. Do not let it sit with fuel for beaucoup months unless you know how to clean a carb. I bought this from Amazon, shipped to LA after Katrina, then moved to NC and used the unit (and am continuing to use it as no power currently) for Irene. The fuel guage fell apart and I removed same from the tank and sealed it with duck tape until I analyze the problem. If the generator turns off, it's out of fuel!

It's louder than other generators, but that is why you point the muffler at your bad neighbor.

Purchased to run an outdoor concession stand for football games. Performed very well.
It's a little loud, but ran great at full load for 6 hour stretches throughout the season.
No complaints

Good generator but need a few pull to start., April 8, 2010 By J. Sit

This generator is Loud as the engine size is 389CC bigger than other with the same Wattage.

The noise is loud and need few pulls to start.

I bought this because the previous reviewer stated this is made in USA. However, the label so "MADE in China". Why pay more for a China made generator.

Works Well, January 27, 2010 By D. Carr

I live in an area where the power goes out a lot and this thing comes in handy a lot. I've got it hooked up to my whole house and it handles everything (with exception of electric heat, A/C, or water heater). But if you have natural gas appliances then your good. I got this about a year ago and the only problem I have had is sometimes I gotta pull the starter cord 10-15 times to get it to start.

Boy this is a great generator for the price. I got a 8,000 Watt and it will run my whole house. Great if you have a power outage. Darrell
